Number of Leagues Joining CUNA’s Equifax Suit Rises Again

At least eight credit union leagues from all over the country are now plaintiffs in CUNA’s recent lawsuit against Equifax over the credit bureau’s huge data breach that exposed personal financial information for millions of people. 

The Pennsylvania Credit Union Association, Mountain West Credit Union Association and the Nebraska Credit Union League are among the latest to join the growing class-action suit over Equifax’s enormous data breach announced September 7.

Equifax restoring The Work Number portal with beefed-up security

Equifax continues work to add new security features and restore full access to The Work Number following a report highlighting potential security vulnerabilities in a browser-based portal of its employment verification service.

The Work Number employee portal was taken offline for servicing on Oct. 8, according to Equifax spokesperson Wyatt Jefferies.

“At that time, we also decided to accelerate the implementation of select security enhancements to our platforms which extended the service outage timeframe,” he said in an email.

Number of homeless families around country continues to rise

The number of homeless families around the country is continuing to rise, according to figures due to be released today.

While the official figures are due to show that the number of homeless people is growing, the number of families in emergency, or temporary, accommodation in Dublin is down.

Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy said more will be done to focus on areas outside Dublin which have rising rates of homelessness.
