Stock Market Dives After Weak Data In Europe

The U.S. stock market gave up some ground late Friday morning but stayed on track for gains for the week. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump said in a Fox Business Network interview aired Friday that a final agreement with China on trade “will probably happen.”

Trump, though, fired some fresh trade shots on another front, saying the European Union “treats us as badly as China” does. Other news in Europe was bearish. Manufacturing in Germany contracted for a third month in a row, and the Eurozone PMI gauge fell short of estimates.

The Euro Stoxx 50, an index of Eurozone stocks, dropped 1.6%, […] Read more

MongoDB Stock Gets Top Rating With New Coverage

MongoDB stock got a rating of outperform as a Wall Street analyst initiated coverage on the database software company Friday, but shares fell along with the market.

MongoDB has an open-source software strategy with a software-as-a-service business model. It […] Read more

Lumentum Stock Upgraded, Analyst Says Worst Over For Apple Worries

JPMorgan upgraded Lumentum Holdings (LITE) Friday on views that Apple (AAPL)-related worries should ease while demand for optical devices built into telecom networks will pick up. Lumentum stock gained in early trading as the Nasdaq Composite fell.

Samik Chatterjee, a JPMorgan analyst, upgraded Lumentum stock to overweight. He raised Lumentum’s price target to 65 from 50.

One driver of the Lumentum stock upgrade is a “solid outlook for the telecom business on the back of strong growth led by 5G wireless investments,” Chatterjee said in a report to clients.

The JPMorgan analyst also expects “upside to synergy targets relative to the recent acquisition […] Read more
